Yes... It keeps people compliant through fear and suffering.

I am considering making a post about my own financial frustrations, but I feel like I don't have the emotional fortitude to do that *and* the money-related chores and paperwork I need to accomplish this weekend. Sigh. Useful signal boosts, coping skills posts, creative things, and gratitude lists seem to be thing people like reading, so I want to do them. Especially making my story words, but that one's hard.

I want to support people whose stories and art make me feel seen and known and honored, and those that expand my concept of the limits of sentient possibility, and those that give me a sense of wonder and astonishment and breathless stunned appreciation. I want especially to honor and support the people who are telling their truth (and their truthful fictions!!!) in ways and as people who are regularly shoved aside, ignored, silenced, killed, erased. I want to escape sometimes, and I want to come back better prepared - travel-worn, care-lightened, sadder-but-wiser, thrilled, or heartened - to address the world I have to live in.

Specifics...huh. Long list that I don't feel up to making right now. Maybe that will be one of my next posts!!!

I think, if you are regularly producing creative projects and have the potential to do more if motivated, that starting a Patreon would be a good idea, but only if you can commit to that. If you can find ten to twenty households (you can count me in) who will tell you that they would sign up to support you for even one or two dollars a month on Patreon, than that many (above whatever fees exist) would be your base for signal boosting your creative projects, and might bring in more over time if you consistently make shiny things.

I think you absolutely can write books! You may want to find the audience and then write the book; or write the book first and then find the audience. If you want to do that, it is your choice. As is any other kind of art. :)

Doing creative work if one can is a good idea. Yes. We NEED the stories. Especially the stories that the kyriarchy tries to silence.
